Description

The High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community has ruled on 01 February 2024 that Cabify has been illegally subcontracting drivers through three companies which were managing drivers for the multinational platform.

The court has found that Cabify and not the intermediary contractors is in the role of the employer of the drivers.

The court decision is preceded by the Valencian regional government's labour inspectorate previously having sanctioned Cabify for this, leading to Cabify taking the decision to court. In 2022, a court ruled in favour of Cabify. Now, the case was taken to the high court which has reinstated the €60,000 fine.

Cabify has announced plans to appeal this court decision.
