Description

The European Court of Justice ruled that Uber cannot be considered a car-pooling platform and should be regulated as traditional taxi services. The case was initially brought up by Asociación Profesional Elite Taxi, which sued Uber for unfair competition in 2014. Uber defended that they were an intermediary connecting drivers and those who need car-pooling services. Uber also stressed that this ruling would not lead to changes in most of the EU countries in which they have operated under the transport law.
