Description
In July 2018, a memorandum was signed by Uber, the Czech Ministers of Transport, and Industry and Trade, and the mayor of Prague. The document lays out the principles that Uber must follow for its operations in Czechia. The memorandum is an attempt to reach a common understanding of the way the Czech law should be applied and how Uber should act in the country. By signing the memorandum, Uber agrees on certain standards such as the need for drivers to hold an approved license and the offering of a predetermined price to the passenger. The company also commits itself to a regular exchange of information with the state for the purpose of tax administration. For the collection of information on drivers’ sales, Uber agrees to implement electronic sales records mediated via the mobile application which will help the state exercise its tax control responsibilities.
