Description
Slovenia will miss the official EU deadline of 2 December 2026 for transposing Directive (EU) 2024/2831. The Ministry of Economy, Labour and Sport confirms that legal solutions are still being drafted.
The transposition will take place via a dedicated, special national law aimed at improving working conditions, increasing operational transparency, and establishing protections tailored to platform work characteristics.
The upcoming law will explicitly introduce a rebuttable legal presumption of an employment relationship to address misclassification. It will also establish new rights regarding algorithmic management and personal data protection.
The initial draft bill is scheduled for completion in November 2026, after which it will enter formal legislative procedures.
