Description
Sharing Economy Ireland is an association of local and international ‘technology-enabled’ member organisations operational in Ireland. The association formed in November 2016 with the aim to represent and act as a collective voice for the industry. Among its objectives, the association lists:
- Create awareness around Ireland’s sharing economy eco-system;
- Establish standards for responsible sharing practices;
- Respond to the shared challenges of our members.
In 2017, Sharing Economy Ireland organised several public events and met with Irish politicians. Later, on 12 July 2017, the association attended a public hearing in Brussels organised by the European Parliament DG EMPL on ‘The impact of business models, including the platform economy, on employment and social security in the EU’.
The association was dissolved in May 2021.
