Description
In July 2021, the Finnish trade union Service Union United (PAM) filed a lawsuit against the Finnish food delivery platform Wolt asking the District Court of Helsinki to provide a ruling on the case of a courier. In a press release, Pam explained that the legal action revolves around the question of whether the courier has an employment relationship with Wolt. Depending on the outcome, it will be clear which rights and claims (such as holiday leave and working hours) the worker is entitled to. The legal action refers to the statement issued by the Labour Council of the Ministry of Employment and the Economy in October, in which the Council decided that an employment relationship exists between food couriers and platform providers Wolt and Foodora.
