Description

On 12 and 13 September, 2022, in Warsaw the Confederation of Work, a Polish trade union focused on youth in employment operating as part of OPZZ (National Alliance of Trade Unions), targeted platform workers for an 'action' for two days. The intention behind this 'action' is to order food from the platform which the workers themselves can take a break and eat, as opposed to deliver. The trade union will take this time to interview 'riders' for a deeper understanding on their working conditions in the young but growing industry in Poland. The trade union believes the platform workers are systematically exploited, experiencing misclassification, have a lack of insurance, are disembedded from social security systems, and experience poor health and safety protection.
