Platform economy database

Eurofound’s platform economy database provides information on initiatives and court cases that exist or have been implemented in relation to activities in the platform economy. This database provides metadata for each entry, such as geographical scope, year, type of initiative, actors involved, sector and companies concerned. Initiatives include legal instruments such as legislative changes or court decisions, as well as voluntary interventions undertaken by different stakeholders to address issues around platform work.

Description

Jakamistalousinfo.fi (Sharing Economy Information) is a website administered by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment (MEAE) in Finland. The website was launched in December 2018, and is maintained by the MEAE with the support of various ministries and government agencies, including the Finnish Tax Administration, Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority, Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom, and Finnish Centre for Pensions.

The website provides information on the platform economy for both service providers and services users, such as basic information about employee and entrepreneur statuses and advice on taxation or encouraging platform workers to ensure that they are sufficiently insured. The online service is available in Finnish, Swedish and English.
