Description

Guerrilla Translation is a Peer-to-peer P2P translation and communication cooperative founded in Spain. Its main goal is to support translators and freelancers to make a living while allowing them to work on topics they find meaningful and socially relevant, promoting cross-cultural knowledge sharing. For this purpose, Guerrilla Translation has developed a specific model which combines two functions: 1) A voluntary translation and media collective that engages in activism (in the form of knowledge sharing and communication); and 2) A cooperative agency that provides translation and communication services. Through this structure, the cooperative ensures high quality translations and strives to address the cultural and economic problems endemic to the creative and digital industries. It is supported by CoopCyle, the French network of cooperatives.
