Description

On 11 September 2026 the Labour Minister, Jean-Pierre Farandou, told AFP that the Directive cannot be transposed by the 2 December 2026 deadline and that transposition will be difficult to complete before the end of the presidential term. The ministry is finalising a draft bill based on the conclusions of an expert mission. The minister's aim is to have a draft bill before February 2027, but he said the parliamentary timetable may prevent its adoption before the end of the session in late February. He also wants a broader social pact for self-employed platform workers, including better occupational health coverage, a minimum income guarantee and stronger powers for the platform employment regulator (ARPE).
