Description

The Union of Platform Workers (SRDP) was established in June 2021 as part of the SSSH Trade Union Federation in Croatia.

The union is dedicated to fighting for dignified working conditions and better entitlements for those working in the platform economy, which is a fast-growing sector in Croatia with more and more workers obtaining the main share of their income via platform businesses. The union sees the main issue in the fact that platform work is not legally regulated although platforms have been active in Croatia since at least eight years and that this results in irregularities and violations of workers' rights, which remain unpunished. Among the main concerns is the lack of social protection of workers, who do not have the right to paid sick leave or holiday, determined minimum wage of labour or insurance against occupational injury etc.
