Description
In November 2024, sixteen former Uber Eats workers filed a lawsuit in the Brussels Court of First Instance, seeking information on data collected by the company and how it influenced decisions to disconnect them from the platform.
The workers, supported by the CSC union, the EgaliBrity Foundation, the Popular Education Information Centre (CIEP-B), and the Human Rights League, claim they were blocked from continuing deliveries without adequate explanation or the chance to discuss the suspensions with the platform. They are requesting access to the data collected by Uber Eats, including details about the automated decisions that were taken, profiling logic, and how deliveries are assigned, in accordance with GDPR. The workers also seek annulment of any disconnection decisions made without sufficient human involvement.
