Description

Sparked by multiple protests of Wolt workers in Cyprus which began in late 2022 and a call by the Ministry of Labour to start negotiations, a collective agreement has been signed by Wolt, trade unions, as well as the ministry.

The aim of the collective agreement is to improve the working conditions of Wolt workers, especially because they do not work for Wolt, but are organised by sub-contractors, so called fleet management companies. While the Cypriot Ministry of Labour extended the call for action to platforms generally, Wolt was the only one to participate.

The workers were advocating for a change as they increasingly experienced decreased delivery prices and inconsistent payment for short delivery distances, amongst others.
