Description

In May 2019, LaConsegna, a food delivery company active in the Tuscan capital, has signed a collective agreement with trade union FILT-CGIL (Italian Federation of Transport Workers), FIT-CISL (Italian Confederation of Workers' Trade Unions), and UIL Trasporti of Florence (Italian Union of Transport Workers of Florence).

The agreement recognises riders as employees. Therefore, they are covered by the national collective agreement for the transport and logistics sector, which grants them payment per hour instead of payment on a per-delivery basis, monthly remuneration and recognition of all the rights and protections like all workers in the sector (such as sick pay or holidays). The agreement establishes that the business risks related to the products and deliveries are borne by the company rather than by the workers. The agreement is regarded as a contractual reference point for the regional territory.
