Description
Cachet, a company based in Tallinn, has raised €5.5 million to provide better protection for platform workers in Europe.
Traditional insurance models struggle with the fluctuating income and working hours of platform workers, particularly those working across multiple platforms. Cachet addresses this by aggregating worker data from various platforms, creating a comprehensive employment picture.
Cachet already offers motor insurance for taxi drivers and insurance for riders/couriers covering personal injury, property damage, accidents, and medical costs. The new funding will support the introduction of third-party liability, personal health, and accident coverage for gig workers. Additionally, Cachet will launch a data-driven fleet insurance model in the Baltics and CEE region, aiming to reduce costs for both workers and fleet managers.
Cachet works with over 12 insurers, including Allianz, PZU, and VIG Group. Cachet currently operates in several EU countries, including Estonia, Latvia, and Poland; the company works with platforms like Bolt, Uber, and Upsteam. It recently signed a deal with TaskRabbit in six EU Member States.
