Description

Bulgarian members of parliament have transposed the EU directive on ‘Exchange of Information on Traders on Online Platforms’ into the domestic Tax and Social insurance Procedure Code. The legislation aims to reduce tax evasion by creating more robust standards for income reporting for those trading through digital platform mediators. The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development drafted the proposal in response to growing concern regarding digitisation of networks and workflows which facilitate tax evasion. Bulgaria joined the Multilateral Competent Authority Agreement which has set a framework for the implementation of the exchange of information between adhering jurisdictions.
