French aerospace and defense company Thales has announced that it will cut 1,300 jobs worldwide by the end of 2025.
So far, Thales has revealed that about 1,000 positions are expected to be cut in France. The company declares that there will be no forced departures, and the conditions of the programme are negotiated with employee representatives according to local regulations. The restructuring programme will be carried out in the company’s space division Thales Alenia Space. The move is due to a drop in demand in the commercial telecommunications satellites sector.
Thales operates in 68 countries and employs about 77,000 people worldwide.
