European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
French Group Thales has announced a plan to expand its global workforce by 12000 jobs during 2023. It is expected that 5500 poeple will be recruited in France, which is where half of the company's workforce is located: Thales 2023 - FR. Further hires include 1050 in the United Kingdom, 600 in Australia, 540 in USA and 550 in India. Research and development roles are expected to make the majority of recruitment, however, the company has said they are also hiring engineers. Over the previous eight years, it is believed the company has been hiring on approximately 5000-8000 people per year.
During 2022, Thales announced a global business expansion plan to hire 11000 employees within that year (Thales-2022-WO). During 2022 and 2023, restructuring plans announced by Thales were recorded in the ERM database for the Netherlands (Thales-2023-NL), Italy (Thales-2022-IT), France (Thales-2022-FR and Thales-2022a-FR) and Romania (Thales-2022-RO).
