European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Thales, a French defence and aerospace company, announced the creation of 5 500 jobs in France as part of a global expansion plan: Thales 2023 - WO.
The expansion is driven by the growth of digital and AI capabilities, particularly in research‑and‑development, cyber and algorithmic services, reflecting the company’s ambition to strengthen its technological expertise.
Thales currently employs around 77 000 people worldwide, about half of whom work in France. Over the previous eight years, it is believed the company has been hiring on approximately 5000-8000 people per year.
