The French chain Castorama, specialised in the retail of building materials, announced that it will create 130 jobs at its new store in Ruda Śląska. The store is expected to be launched in April 2021.
Castorama Poland is part of the British multinational company Kingfisher which has about 1,200 stores in ten European countries. The company has been operating in Poland since 1997, where it over 80 stores in 60 cities and employs over 12,000 people across the country.
In 2018, the company announced two expansions: in April (300 new jobs) and July (125 new jobs). In 2019, Castorama announced two business expansions: in March (145 jobs in Elbląg) and May (150 jobs in Bydgoszcz). In 2020, the chain announced three expansions: in February (110 jobs in Włocławek), September (140 jobs in Nowy Sącz) and October (130 jobs in Białki near Siedlce).
