The French chain Castorama, specialised in the retail of building materials, announced that it will create 130 jobs at its new store in Białki near Siedlce. The opening of the shop is scheduled for 14 October 2020.
Castorama Poland is a part of the British multinational company Kingfisher which has about 1,200 stores in ten European countries. The company has been operating in Poland since 1997, where it has 82 stores and employs over 12,000 people across the country.
In 2018, the company announced two expansions: in April (300 new jobs) and July (125 new jobs). In 2019, Castorama announced two business expansions: in March (145 jobs in Elbląg) and May (150 jobs in Bydgoszcz). In 2020, the chain announced two expansions: in February (110 jobs in Włocławek) and September (140 jobs in Nowy Sącz).
