Nissan will reduce at least 12,500 positions globally by March 2023 - its biggest job cuts since 2009 - and reduce production capacity, mainly of compact cars. In fact, already 6,400 positions have been cut since a first announcement May in eight facilities including in Spain - where trucks and vans are made - and Indonesia. The remaining 6,100 job will be cut from September 2019 to March 2023. The company is targeting sites where Nissan made investments to produce compact cars under the Power 88 plan.
