Description
Following concluded employer-employee negotiations, the Finnish postal and logistics services company Posti has announced personnel reductions of up to 202 jobs. A total of 94 administrative and supervisory positions are reduced in the Postal Service Group. In addition, due to an update of the retail network, Posti has decided to close 18 offices across the country, leading to the dismissal of an additional 108 employees. Posti aims to reduce costs by €150-200 million over the next three years. The restructurings are due to a decline in mail volumes and changing customer needs.
Previous restructurings took place in early 2019 (the initial job reduction need of 236 positions was subsequently revised to 59 jobs), 2016 (232 jobs lost in September and 680 in March) and 2015 (319 jobs lost).
