Description

The Finnish public postal company, Posti, has initiated employer-employee negotiations to cut up to 370 jobs in Uusimaa, Finland. The reason for the redundancies is that fewer and fewer magazines can afford to pay for early morning delivery why early postal delivery will be discontinued in parts of Uusimaa. The current schedule for early morning postal delivery will continue until October or November. The local union representative has expressed shock in regards to the decision to cut 370 positions.

The ERM har previously reported on major restructuring within Posti during January-March 2016.

Update 2016-09-06:After negotiations with unions, the final dismissal figures amounted to 232 positions.
