Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Huta Stalowa Wola (HSW), a Polish defense contractor, has announced plans to hire over 250 new employees in 2025.
The company is specifically seeking welders, CNC operators, and quality control specialists, as well as experts in investments and structural design. The expansion is part of a broader ‘boom’ in the Polish defense sector driven by geopolitical tensions and the war in Ukraine.
Based in Stalowa Wola, HSW is a key manufacturer of heavy artillery and armored vehicles, including the Krab self-propelled howitzer and the Borsuk infantry fighting vehicle.
The recruitment is part of a broader announcement from Polish defence industry companies, including PZL Mielec: PZL Mielec 2025 - PL, Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa, Jelcz and Zakłady Mechaniczne Tarnów: Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa 2025 - PL, and Huta Stalowa Wola announced the creation of around 600 new jobs in Poland.
