Description

Aptiv, a major global automotive supplier operating in the motor-vehicle components sector, is conducting group layoffs affecting 392 employees at its Jeleśnia plant in the Żywiec region.

The restructuring, driven by falling orders, reduced production, and relocation of some operations abroad, will take place over the coming year and affects primarily production workers.

Job-reduction measures include enhanced severance packages, negotiated with unions, offering up to 11–12 months’ pay for long-tenured employees.

Trade unions, particularly NSZZ Solidarność, have focused on securing the highest compensation in the plant’s history.

Aptiv, formerly Delphi, has been a major employer in the region for decades, producing wiring harnesses for leading European carmakers.

Aptiv previously restructurised its operation in Poland in 2024 and 2021, see: Aptive 2024 - PLAptive 2021 - PL
