Information technology company TietoEVRY is cutting up to 190 jobs in Norway, as part of 600 job reductions in the Nordic countries TietoEVRY-2022-WO. Cuts are also made in Sweden TietiEVRY-2022-SE and in Finland TietoEVRY-2022-FI. Job reductions will be completed by the end of 2022.

TietoEVRY has launched an efficiency program, aimed at saving 50 million euros yearly. The cuts are partly related to declining demand for traditional infrastructure services as companies are increasingly buying cloud services. Job cuts will especially impact TietoEVRY Connect, a unit employing 920 in Norway. Expenses to external consultants and subcontractors will also be reduced. The company has initiated consultations with trade unions. Trade union representatives have been critical to the use of direct dismissals and have argued that the cuts in reality are about moving tasks to other countries. The company has stated that it will look for opportunities to use internal mobility and severance packages.

TietoEVRY laid off around 150 employees in Norway in early 2020 TietoEVRY-2020-NO and additional cuts as well as recruitments were made later the same year in the process of the merger between the Finnish Tieto and the Norwegian EVRY. TietoEVRY is a leading Nordic digital services and software company with headquarters in Helsinki, Finland. At the end of 2020, the company counted over 24,000 employees globally and more than 3000 in Norway.
