Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver's restaurant group has entered administration with the immediate loss of around 1,000 jobs. The group which traded under the brand names Jamie's Italian, Fifteen and Barbecoa has appointed KPMG as administrators. Only three of the 25 Jamie's Italian restaurants continue to trade. The restaurant group's international business has not been affected by the restructure.
Jamie's Italian was subject to a CVA in 2018 which allowed the chain to continue trading, though it was clear that it faced serious difficulties, and attempts to sell the business to new owners proved unsuccessful.
