Description

The Conduent call centre at Sophia Antipolis (Alpes-Maritimes) is scheduled to close on 12 July, following the termination of the contract with Apple. The site's 200 employees work for AppleCare, Apple's technical services program. Employees at this site handle first-level calls for questions about iOS, macOS, AppleID accounts or family sharing. Apple's decision to withdraw would be due to poor satisfaction survey results and a significant drop in calls volume.

Working conditions at the site, which is experiencing high staff turnover, had been criticised by the SUD union, which had launched a strike notice in January. Conduent is already present in the South of France where it has located its headquarter (Guilherand-Granges, Ardèche). In 2017, Conduent had announced the creation of a new call-centre in Roubaix (Nord) with 200 job creations. The site at Sophia Antipolis has been created in 2016 with 200 employees, by the division of Xerox General services that became Conduent in 2017.
