Description
Amazon, the online retailer has announced that it is opening a new warehouse, also known as a ‘fulfilment centre’ in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, creating 200 permanent jobs. Amazon’s vice-president of UK customer fulfilment said that they were ‘looking forward to welcoming a new team.’
There is no precise information as to when the new centre is expected to open, though it has been reported that recruitment has already started for managerial and support roles, with recruitment for warehousing jobs expected to follow closely behind.
The announcement comes after the company added about 4,000 jobs in the UK in 2018 (400 new jobs announced in March, 2,500 new jobs announced in July and 1,030 new jobs announced in October).
