Description
Discount supermarket Aldi has announced plans to open 130 more stores in the UK over the coming two years as part of its drive to have a network of 1,000 stores by 2022. The current wave of expansion will lead to the creation of 5,000 jobs. As well as the new stores, the expansion will also see new warehousing facilities in Derbyshire, Kent and Bedfordshire and extended warehousing facilities in Bathgate and Darlington. Previous restructurings took place in 2017 (4,000 jobs created), 2016 (550 jobs created) and 2015 (5,000 jobs created).
