Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Avant Homes, the UK-based residential construction company has announced that it will create up to 360 jobs in its recently opened regional office in Chesterfield, England in the next nine months. The new subsidiary has been named Avant Homes Central and its activities will cover the areas of South Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and the north of Nottinghamshire. It is the company’s fifth regional office and building development on one site is already underway.
The new jobs are in all areas of the business, ranging from construction and technical roles to sales and from entry to management level. The company’s managing director said: "Avant Homes Central is an important strategic expansion for our business, allowing us to provide … homes to even more people.”
The company has recently opened another regional office in Sunderland, in North-East of England.
