Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
German manufacturer of home appliance BSH Sprzęt Gospodarstwa Domowego, a subsidiary of Bosch and Siemens Household Appliances, has announced that it will create 300 new jobs at its production facilities and logistics centre in Wrocław. The restructuring programme is associated with a plan to build a logistics centre, and the total number of employees is estimated to reach in total 1,300 positions. The centre is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2019, and it will supply ovens and refrigerators in Europe. The total value of the investment in the city is expected to reach PLN 500mn (EUR 117.16million). BSH has started to operate in Poland since 1994 and now, the company has six plants and also back office, R&D, IT and logistics centres in the country.
In 2016, the company announced that about 1,000 employees will be hired in two plants in Wrocław.
