Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Energy supplier Spark Energy has announced plans to create 160 new jobs in both its customer service roles and its back office functions including areas such as finance, human resources and IT. The company which is based in Selkirk in the Scottish Borders had previously announced job increases in late 2016. The latest increases will mean that the company, which specialises in the provision of gas and electricity for the lettings sector, will have a staff of approximately 580 by the end of 2018.
