Description

The pharmaceutical manufacturer Merial has announced a reorganisation of its activities in France. The former subsidiary of the French pharmaceutical group Sanofi, sold to the German group Boehringer Ingelheim in January 2017, want to sell its factory at Saint-Herblon (Loire-Atlantique)  where 110 people are employed, and 200 positions of the headquarter at Lyon (Rhône)  will be delocalised in other EU countries, of a total workforce of 700 employees.

According to the management, the 200 employees could be transferred to the headquarter in Germany at Ingelheim am Rhein , or in Vienna, Dubai or Singapore. Unions expect many refusal of geographical mobilities that will lead to dismissals or voluntary departures. Following the merger of the German company with Merial, the new company aims to become the world's No. 1 animal health company, with 50,000 employees worldwide.

Another measure following the acquisition is that the former subsidiary of the French pharmaceutical group Sanofi, sold to the German group Boehringer Ingelheim in January 2017, is going to to sell its Saint-Herblon (Loire-Atlantique) factory where 110 people are employed.

The group announced on 19 January 2017, the hiring of 125 people in Lyon and its region and has just opened its regional headquarter in Gerland near Lyon. On 21 September 2005 its will to cut 200 jobs amongst its 1,700 workers in France by 2009.
