Description
Following the merger of Lafarge and Holcim, the ement manufacturer Lafarge Holcim has agreed with trade unions on a collective dismissal that will affect 111 workers (around 11% of its entire workforce). Dismissed workers will receive a severance payment equal to 36 days per year worked up to a maximum of 24 years. In addition, they will receive an extra bonus of €1,000 per year to a maximum of €18,000. Finally, it is worth noting that 40 workers will be given the opportunity to relocate. This agreement has been achieved after different labour adjustments plans were implemented by Holcim over the last few years.
In 2012, the ERM reported the labour adjustment plan applied by Holcim affecting 295 workers. In January 2015, Holcim merged with Lafarge. Lafarge has three manufacture plants in Montcada i Reixac (Barcelona), Sagunto (Valencia) and Villaluenga de la Sagra (Toledo)
