Ericsson, the global provider of telecommunications equipment and services, has announced it will create 120 jobs in Dublin and Athlone. The roles will be in software development, programme management and consultancy. Some roles are linked to the company's recently acquired TV business unit, Mediaroom. According to the sources, many graduates of the software technology masters programmes in Dublin Institute of Technology and Athlone Institute of Technology will be employed by Ericsson.
This job creation is being supported by IDA Ireland (Industrial Development Agency). The ERM reported on restructuring at Ericsson in 2012 and 2009.
