Description

British weapons and defence manufacturer BAE Systems Bofors announced that it will cut 75 jobs on its site in Karlskoga. This branch of BAE Systems mainly produces missiles and ammunition.

The job cuts will mainly affect white-collar workers. According to the source the job cuts are a result of decreasing demand within the research department. The company is now entering into negotiations with trade unions and these are due to be concluded by mid-June.

The ERM has reported on a previous restructuring event at BAE Systems Bofors in 2008.

Updated 27/06/2014: After concluding negoatiations with trade unions, 70 employees will be made redundant at BAE Systems in Karlskoga. The company will make the cuts through voluntary redundancies and early retirement.
