Description

Delphi, an automotive supplier specialised in electronics, is to cut 202 jobs France, including 136 in Blois and 66 in Perigny.  This was announced only a few months after the company had unveiled plans to cut on staff in Illkirch and Villepinte (see ERM report).

With the initiative, Delphi aims at increasing its profitability against the backdrop of the declining automotive market in Europe.

The job cuts will mainly be implemented via voluntary departures. This is yet to be discussed with worker representatives. Unions fear the delocalisation of R&D to Poland and of production to Izmir (Turkey).

Delphi is a multinational supplier of electronics and technologies for the automotive, commercial vehicle and other markets. The company employs 2,853 workers in France.
