Description

Lufthansa Systems, an IT subsidiary of the German airline, announced plans to outsource 1,000 employees in its IT section. This is part of the company’s “Score” program, which aims to reduce costs.

The job cuts in Germany relate to the call centre in Kelsterbach (Hesse) and the computing centre in Flensburg (Schleswig-Holstein). Another 300 employees are affected in London, Dallas, Singapore and Buenos Aires. A timeframe for the restructuring has not been published yet.

The company is to negotiate the restructuring with labour unions in order to avoid dismissals.

Lufthansa Systems employs 4,200 people worldwide. For additional information on restructurings related to Lufthansa’s Score program see Lufthansa (2012) and Lufthansa (2012 - World).
