Description

As announced on 3 May 2012 by German airline Lufthansa, 2,500 administrative jobs will be cut in Germany. The job cuts are part of Lufthansa's SCORE program, which aims to rise the company's operating results. Lufthansa currently employs 11,500 people in administrative positions in Germany. Worldwide, 3,500 of 16,800 administrative jobs will be cut (see fact sheet).

Lufthansa's SCORE program is said to be implemented due to increasing costs, especially affected by the oil price, but also due to an intensified competitive situation in Europe's airline market.

German union Verdi announced resistance against Lufthansa's plans, which do not exclude forced redundancies.
