Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Dutch-based construction group Ballast Nedam announced plans to cut 250 jobs.
As announced, the restructuring refers to the group’s headquarters and its regional and specialised companies and will cost about 7 million euros.
According to the sources the continuing crisis in the construction sector is still having a negative impact on the group’s economic results.
The new job reduction measures come on top of an earlier restructuring plan in 2012. For previously reported restructurings see also: Ballast Nedam Infra-2011, Waco Lingen Beton-2011 and Ballast Nedam-2002.
