Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 23 August 2013, the outsourcing services provider Arvato Poland announced its plans to create 100 jobs at the contact center in Szczecin by the end of 2013. The center is looking for people with foreign language skills.
Arvato is part of an international media corporation, Bertelsmann AG. The company provides outsourcing services such as IT, mass communication, loyalty programs, e-commerce, contact/call center, financial services.
The company has been operating in Poland since 1994 and employs over 2,000 people in 8 locations across the country. The unit in Szczecin has been operating for almost ten years. Currently the center employs 200 people.
The present job creation announcement is linked with a recent restructuring plan in Ireland involving 140 job cuts.
