Stora Enso, a Finnish-Swedish pulp and paper manufacturer, has announced a reduction of approximately 2,500 employees (see here), including 750 people in Sweden. The reductions in Sweden represent approximately 12 percent of the total number of employees in the country.
The geographical split of the planned personnel reduction is as follows: 650 jobs in Finland, 750 jobs in Sweden, 850 jobs in Europe (excluding Nordic countries) and 250 jobs outside Europe.
As of June 2013, there is no information about when the employment adjustments will start taking effect or when they will be implemented by.
Stora Enso is active in the paper, biomaterials, wood products and packaging industry. The company employs some 28,000 people worldwide.
