Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Stora Enso, a Finnish-Swedish pulp and paper manufacturer, is to reduce its workforce by 140 employees at Nymölla papermill in Bromölla (Sweden). In addition to 70 direct dismissals, 70 employees will leave Nymölla papermill due to retirements and transfers.
In May this year, Stora Enso announced that the internal restructuring process would conclude in 285 redundancies across Europe, of which 160 employees were announced to be at the papermill in Bromölla. Please see the following related fact sheets for further information:17606.
The timeline for the restructuring process is unknown at this point in time.
