Description

The Swedish paper manufacturer Holmen Paper has announced that it is to cut 230 jobs at its papermill in Hallstavik due to the continued weak market for printing paper. The measure follows a decision to close the oldest of the three paper machines next year. Holmen Paper has facilities in Hallstavik and Braviken in Sweden and in Madrid in Spain.

The downsizing corresponds to a reduction by one third of the total workforce. Holmen Paper has restructured on several occasions in recent years. In the end of 2010, 150 jobs were cut at the plant in Hallstavik. Please see the following related cases for more information on previous rounds of redundancies: 19202, 15742, 14428, 11447, 14389, 11014

As of October 2012 it is not yet known when the job losses will be implemented by.
