Description
Trafford Council has announced plans to cut 103 jobs in a bid to save £16.2m. The council has already reduced its workforce by 150 last year (see here). As reported by the Manchester evening news, 29 of the job cuts are management and 31 back office positions.
As a replacement for the redundant workers, the council is considering the use of volunteers in libraries and parks in order to make some of the savings and protect frontline staffing. It is reported that a reorganization of some libraries as full self-service libraries is attempted.
