Description

The International Logistics Centre of the Hungarian post company, Magyar Posta, was opened on 6 September 2011. The new unit located at the Budapest airport will create 272 new jobs. The investment is part of an overall investment of EUR 30 million which is expected to generate 10,000 jobs at the airport and its surroundings.

Magyar Posta started its restructuring in 2008. Magyar Posta expects significant costs savings with this centralised logistics centre instead of the different smaller logistics units at the airport and around in Budapest. As 140 employees were dismissed in 2010 (see fact sheet 16565), the restructuring process has resulted in a net 132 additional jobs announced since 2009.
