Description
Nestlé France, a division of the Swiss multinational food-and-beverage group, announced plans to reduce up to 180 jobs in France. However, taking into account vacancies, job creations and voluntary internal mobility, the effective social impact could be reduced from 75 to 100 positions. The cuts will affect the headquarters in Issy-les-Moulineaux and the R&D centers in Tours and Lisieux.
The decision follows the group’s 2025 global cost-reduction plan aimed at cutting €1 billion in expenses, and will prioritize internal mobility and voluntary exit schemes over compulsory redundancies. The restructuring is part of a broader global effort to simplify and digitalise the organisation, with the aim of enhancing agility and competitiveness while preparing for future investment plans: Nestle 2025 - WO.
The company’s workforce in France totals 9,000 employees.
Updated, 20/08/2026
The company announced that 156 job cuts targeting support functions, such as the human resources, logistics and purchasing departments, will take place in Issy-les-Moulineaux. However, of those affected, around 60 work for Nestlé Waters, a subsidiary that is expected to be merged with a partner in the near future, and they would be offered the opportunity to join that entity. In the research and development center 24 jobs will be cut.
At the same time, social partners are concerned about the offshoring of company activities to shared service centres in Portugal or Ukraine, or to those managed by service providers in Poland, India, etc.
