Description
The SPB Group, a Franco-Canadian company, is taking over the site of Papeteries de Condat in Lardin-Saint-Lazare, cutting 195 of the remaining workforce, and keeping 21 workers. The Commerce Tribunal of Bordeaux accepted the takeover offer from SPB, over the offer from the Czech Finesta.
The aim of the group is the complete reconversion of the site into 4 production chains, including the production and recycling of alumine, nanocellulose, and hydrogen. The group also aims to create a datacenter to work on the development of artificial intelligence.
Due to the complicated legal process following the Papeteries de Condat 2023 - FR, SPB has committed to a voluntary financial contribution of €250,000 to support the redundancy plan.
